Skincare Essentials While Travelling

When I am travelling my skin care routine is essential, however I condense this to a few must have products.  A cleanser is essential , a serum to hydrate/brighten deeply and a broad-spectrum SPF to protect   Skin can be unpredictable at the best of times so try and stick to products your skin has used before.  We do not want any skin reactions while travelling so keep things as similar to your usual routine as possible.

Did you know any change to your typical humidity, air quality, temperature, or sun exposure levels can lead to things like dryness, redness, and acne.  It is also worth mentioning that skin can get super dry while on a plane and then compensate by overproducing oil, leaving your face dehydrated but somehow also breaking out.

Before you leave for the airport make sure to cleanse your skin , pop on a hydrating serum followed by a broad spectrum spf 30/50.  For the plane itself I bring a hydrating face mist/spray and a sheet mask for a long flight.  This will leave you glowing on departure. 😉

Here I have listed my travel essentials for various skin types.

Dry Skin

The Inkey list hyaluronic acid cleanser – Formulated for all skins and excellent for hydration and removing makeup.  Hydrates the skin even after its removed due to the powerful moisture binding ingredients. Use AM and

La Roche Posay hyalu B5 serum – A super hydrating, cooling serum that works on dry , dehydrated skin as well as fine lines and wrinkles.  Contains hyaluronic acid and vitamin b5 to replenish lost moisture and soothe the skin. I love this product.

SPF, Heliocare water gel 360 –  a broad spectrum spf 50 with added anti oxidents.  Suitable for someone who wants ultimate hydration.  This lightweight and hydrating formula is suitable for all skin types.  This is hypoallergenic and water/sweat resistant.

Acne prone/Oily skin

Skingredients sally cleanse – 2 % salicylic cleanser that will gently eliminate excess oil , help with blackheads and control breakouts.  Use every second or third night for best results.  Can be used for spots on the chest and back and great for red textured skin on the back of the arms.

La Roche Posay Effaclar serum – Contains both salicylic acid and glycolic acid plus niacinamide.  Excellent for treating imperfections and marks, visible pores and acne while soothing the skin and improving skin renewal. One of my favourite serums for a problematic skin.

SPF – Heliocare gel oil free spf 50 – A high protection spf 50 that contains powerful antioxidants. Suitable for normal, combination and oily skin types. This is oil free with a dry touch finish. Excellent in hot, humid climates.

Sensitive Skin

Trilogy very gentle cleansing cream – A non-drying creamy cleanser that soothes, cleanses and protects the skin barrier. Removes makeup thoroughly even eye makeup while leaving the skin soft and refreshed. Contains omega 3 + 9 and chamomile for added benefits.

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Dermallergo Serum – a hydrating and soothing serum for ultra-sensitive skin. It immediately hydrates the skin for up to 48hours and restores the skin barrier to help protect against future reactions. Clinically proven to reduce signs of sensitivity

SPF – Skingredients skin shield SPF 50 – A broad spectrum lightweight mineral SPF.  Built in blue light protection. This has a beautiful peachy tint which covers redness and acts as a primer. Excellent for any sensitive skins who want a mineral SPF.

Hydrating mists – My favourite hydrating mist to pop into your bag and in this case on the plane. The Ella and Joe 3-1 skin mist is a refreshing and soothing facial mist that helps to restore moisture levels throughout the day. Can be used on its own or under / over makeup.
