The Johnstown Estate is an idyllic, four-star, rural hideaway in Enfield, on the Meath/Kildare border. The hotel is based around a Georgian manor built in the 18th Century and from the moment you drive up the tree-lined avenue, you know that you’re in for a real treat.

Step through the doors of the original Georgian house, and you’ll immediately feel like a VIP as you are invited to check-in at one of the beautiful, antique reception desks. As you leave the Georgian reception rooms, to your left, you’ll see the plush, light-filled Atrium with its soft velvet wing-backed chairs, cosy corners and luxurious bespoke carpet.

The fun really starts as you and your galpals open the door to The Mulberry – the newest, stunningly luxe suite at The Johnstown Estate – where a chilled bottle of Moët et Chandon and some delicious hors d’oeuvres await you.

The Mulberry is like nothing you’ve seen before. Designed by interiors arbiters of style, Ventura Design, in gorgeous berry tones and butter-soft velvets, this unique space was conceived with the girly getaway crew in mind. It has everything a group of good friends could possibly want while catching up and having fun.

The suite includes two bathrooms, three showers, and four hair and make-up stations lit by nearly 50 LED bulbs. The chic lounge area also includes a wine fridge, Nespresso machine, 50” TV and a Bluetooth Bose speaker. Luxury, glamour, beauty and comfort, all in one spot. What more could a group of best-mates ask for?

When ready, everyone can cocoon themselves in fluffy bathrobes and slippers and head to Gloss at The Spa, the sophisticated little sister to The Spa at The Johnstown Estate. A gold and jewel-coloured suite, including a treatment room and twelve treatment stations, it’s tailor-made for exclusive use by a group of up to ten. Here you can indulge in 2 treatments each including a range of Biotec Facials, Scalp Massage, Chest and Shoulder Massage, Express Manicure or Express Pedicure.

In addition there is a 45-minute Makeup Masterclass using Delilah, the latest global cosmetic powerhouse. Last time Lisa stayed, she loved MUA Jessica’s work giving her a smouldering evening look.

And during all the pampering, giggling and catching up, everyone can sip on a delish cocktail. Heaven!

The hotel’s Leisure club – including a state-of-the-art gym, swimming pool, steam room, sauna jacuzzi and outdoor Canadian hot-tub – is available to guests at The Mulberry, while there are also 120 acres of parkland and running tracks for those who are feeling energetic.

Next up is dinner. It’ll be a tough job to forsake the dressing gowns, but Fire & Salt – The Johnstown Estate’s signature fine dining restaurant – will be another highlight of your stay. The Sparkle at The Mulberry package includes a four course dinner with a menu offering high end cuisine with a lot of choice for everyone from vegan to carnivore.

Your luxury break will be topped off with The Johnstown Estate’s heavenly turndown service complete with luxury chocolates and Elemis Pillow Spray which will send you into the dreamiest of sleeps, after a perfect day.

Following the late night chats, a gorgeous breakfast the following morning will be very welcome. There is a full hot Irish breakfast buffet, an à la carte menu and a wide range of fruit, cheese, meats, cereals and yoghurts, plus various other options for anyone with specific dietary requirements.

Complimentary Wi-Fi & ample parking is included.

The package costs €1,500 per 6 people sharing which is amazing value considering everything that is included in the package – two treatments, dinner, champagne, a cocktail, hors d’oeuvres, very ritzy accommodation and access to all facilities. Should you want another two friends to join the fun, The Mulberry adjoins another room and this package costs €2000 per 8 people.
