Your Skin During Menopause

During menopause, lower levels of estrogen have a big impact on your skin, bringing some noticeable changes. Less estrogen makes our skin more prone to thinning , sagging, and wrinkling. Fortunately, you can relieve some of the skin-related effects of menopause by taking care of your specific skin care needs. The hormone Estrogen plays a large role in our skin, from supporting collagen production, supporting the skin’s elasticity, maintaining moisture levels, and supporting healthy blood vessels. When we start to produce less estrogen during menopause, you may start to see more pronounced lines and wrinkles, increased dryness, increased sensitivity, dullness, and sagging. Some women also experience breakouts and acne.
