May 2024!

Well hello hello,

I hope you are all doing well and had a good April. Can you believe we are coming up to the halfway stage of the year? Honestly time is just flying by. I think because April was such a busy month for me that I almost missed it in the rush if you get me. It was a brilliant month for me both personally and professionally. Hectic but hugely rewarding.

Once we came back from the Maldives it was straight into the set up of the pop up shop in the Whitewater. I just want to say a huge thank you to the thousands that travelled to Newbridge to visit the store. I was totally blown away by the response and how well it was received. As you all know this was my first shop and I so enjoyed it. I actually have no words, the amount of you that travelled from all over the Country. Every day we arrived there was a queue waiting to come in and visit. We thought it would be just the weekends that would be busy but it was every single day hundreds and hundreds arrived in to see us. It was great to meet so many people from the community and to be able to put names to the faces. It was also great to be able to help style and advise on looks in person rather than on my stories. I know lots of you said to me that you love to be able to physically try on the pieces and to get the exact size that suits. It makes online purchasing in the future so much easier. I had great staff in the shop and had so many lovely compliments on them. I knew I wanted mature ladies who could relate to my customers and we really had the A Team. I so enjoyed working alongside them and we had great laughs over the nine days. We are now a group of friends, not work colleagues. They all worked so hard but always with a smile and a ‘can do’ attitude even when we were all wrecked. I loved the store set up and was really really happy with how it all looked. I wanted it to look like a high end boutique and I think we really achieved this. Huge big thank you to Movement for putting it altogether and to Adeline for helping me style the store. It will take me a few more days to recover that is for sure but it was so worth it. I have had so many messages asking me to do it again but we will see in time what happens. No plans at the moment but maybe later in the year.

As you all know I had small delays with the stock landing into the Country but it is all in now. We go online on Thursday morning. The new launches will be for my newsletter subscribers only so be sure you are signed up to my mailing list. We will send the newsletter early Thursday May 2nd so keep an eye on your email. We have the blue walking jackets, blazers in camel and navy, tropical pyjama sets and car clips. We also have a restock of the classic glasses and the pewter aviators along with the black t-shirts and the blue and white shirts. It is going to be a busy few days. I absolutely love all the new stock and have had amazing feedback from the customers in the pop up. It is going to be a busy few days but I am very excited to release the products. Lots more coming in June so watch this space.

During April I was also invited by Evoke to speak at the annual Spring lunch. It was on in the Herbert Park Hotel. Sybil Mulcahy from Evoke invited me to speak at it. I am not very confident at this type of thing but I faced the fear and did it. I actually really enjoyed it and Sybil made me feel very comfortable and again I met some super Ladies at the event. Chelsea came along with me, we stayed over and had a great night. I was invited this morning to speak at another event so I might just do that.

The house is progressing really well and they started the roof this week. It will take six weeks to finish the roof. I have the joinery, bathrooms and kitchen picked out with deposits paid and they are working on it. We are still on track to move in on November 1st and I am not putting the cushions out this Summer just in case the weather goes against us lol. You know me I would expect the roof to be done in a week, I have no patience. I cannot wait to move in. Arlene is sending me lots of updates so it is all really exciting now and becoming very real.

Daragh will be home next week for the Summer. He is going to work locally and sure I love having him home. We might go away for a week in May. He suggested we go to the sun so why not. I will have to work when I am away but working in the sun I can handle lol….
