Garden Get-Togethers

by Lisa McGowan

Here we are… A new month! Can you actually believe it’s June? I think in some ways the weeks have gone by so slowly and in other ways it seems like it’s gone by in a flash… Do any of you feel like this also? I do count myself really lucky in that I have been able to stay working and also the fact that this horrible virus has not hit any of my loved ones. I am, however, very conscious that it has impacted on so many of my Lusters from the messages I’ve received, so sending huge big virtual hugs to each and every one of you. You all know I love a hug and I have to say girls I really miss that interaction with people. The chats and the hugs… it’s all so much part of our daily lives and when it’s removed its just surreal, isn’t it?

We have had some brighter news over the last few weeks with the lifting of some restrictions. I think the best part for lots of us was the introduction of up to four people to meet up outdoors while maintaining social distance. The social distance thing I think is like second nature to us now. I know I am very conscious of it and I have it drilled into Daragh. It’s the teens we need to keep an eye on, don’t you think?

When I was thinking about my Fashion for June I thought about us all having four friends in a garden, enjoying a catchup and an excuse to get out of the trackies. A great reason to pop on the makeup and get the hair tools out! Get comfy/chic, pour a glass of wine and revel in the chats. Lots of what I featured in my May edition were casual pieces and I am going to roll with that again for June. This month perhaps with the meeting up with friends, we can go a little more dressy.

‘You all know I love a hug and I have to say girls I really miss that interaction with people.’
As you all know I love my dresses teamed up with trainers and I have some amazing pieces that I have personally chosen for you this month. Last month was the first month that Murphys Shoes from Bantry in Cork joined the site and girls, ye went mad for them… like, mad!! I’m so glad I decided to bring them onboard and you know they are a small Irish family business in West Cork so it’s great to be able to support them. Murphys are with us again this month with some great looks.
Clothes-wise I have some beautiful pieces for you girls. You know me I try to support Irish wherever possible. This month’s feature store is McElhinneys and guess what???? Not only have I amazing fashion looks but I have fashion for the home too!!! A whole new Homewares section has been added to the site. We all love bits and pieces for our Homes and I can’t wait to hear what you all think.
Carraig Donn are with me again as are Pamela Scott this month:
I am delighted to also welcome Desert Diamonds to the site. Those of you following me the last number of years will know I have worked with Jean for years. Her floating diamond and ear cuff are my staples, so I know you won’t be disappointed.
We are all enjoying our glass of wine in the garden… so I went to my friends in Domaine des Jeanne and managed to negotiate a discount code for you! Thanks Denise for looking after all the Lusters 🙂

We are blessed with the weather as well girls. Like could you imagine Lockdown on a bleak January day. We all need a good pair of Sunglasses for the hot sunny Summer days in the garden. Mullingar Opticians (Optiwear) have an amazing range of glasses and in my opinion have the best value out there and you know I love a bargain.

Girls, I pretty much have you all covered. A fabulous dress, with the coolest trainers, accessorised with a floating diamond, a pair of Sunnies and the all-important glass of wine. When you are basking in the sun with your three friends (socially distanced of course) you can think of me… Cheers girls lol!!! 😉

Love Lisa xx
